Children born with craniofacial microsomia often require treatment that involves multiple specialists throughout childhood and into adulthood. Craniofacial microsomia care is best managed when a team of specialists works with the family to develop and follow a treatment plan.
The American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association (ACPA) is dedicated to team care and to optimizing outcomes for patients. ACPA approves U.S. and Canadian teams that meet the Standards for Approval of Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Teams. ACPA approved teams are listed on the ACPA website and are available for the general public to reference when choosing a provider for craniofacial healthcare needs.
European Reference Network (ERN) CRANIO members are required to meet a general and network-specific criterion and obtain endorsement from their national ministry of health.
